Today, I met with a girl from Hungary who studies in Wageningen at university. I went to the station in Apeldoorn to see her, but I was far too early at the bus stop in my neighbourhood, cause I thought buses went every 15 minutes while it’s every half an hour on Sundays. Fortunately, I still had time to be at the station in time. I didn’t know where her bus would stop, so I wandered around a bit. A man asked what I was looking for, and I told him I was looking for the bus from Ede (near Wageningen), so we went to the platform where that bus comes. However, that’s the platform to get onto the bus, while it appears that all people get off the bus at the same location. So someone took me there and I met with the girl. Then, we decided to go to my house, so we had to have the same bus I’d taken but now back to my neighbourhood. The same man helped us to the bus, and I was feeling very embarrassed cause I couldn’t travel independently. We got off at the bus stop near my house and we walked to my home. Mum opened the door and we sat in the kitchen for a while, then went into the backyard and then upstairs to my room. This girl was very interested in my maths and biology graphics, cause she’s having a problem getting them in tactile formats. I’m not too much into these subjects (I dropped all sciences classes as soon as possible), and her professor appears to be quite careless with regard to getting graphics in an accessible format. I felt troubled, cause I can’t really help her. I have no experience at university whatsoever and am feeling awkward having to arrange my own stuff, even without all these graphic things.
We chatted some more about school and stuff. She had to have the bus back to Ede at 5:20 PM, so Dad drove us to the station. She got on the bus at 5:18 or so and it left off too early. What if we hadn’t been on the station early? We went back home. It was quite an eventful day in some ways, cause somehow I’d pictured myself being able to handle this perfectly, but it didn’t turn out that easy.
